LESCO management has stopped the replacement of faulty meters to meet the recovery target. In the LESCO region, 25,000 meters are damaged every month due to rains and technical reasons. On the other hand, the staff of Junbesco Liberty Sub-Division has been overbilling the workshop owner for two months on a faulty meter in a power theft case. Two months ago, his three-phase meter was burnt, which was coded with fact code, but LESCO staff did not change the meter. Later, the meter was replaced with a bribe of Rs 15,000. SDO Liberty Tahir Sattar said that action would be taken against the responsible officials after investigating the matter.
