The federal government has approved the appointment of private chief executive officer GEPCO for which advertisements have been issued and applications have also been invited from the candidates. Various conditions have been laid down for the recruitment of private CEOs on a three-year contract. Preference will be given to those with 20 years of experience in management and 10 years of experience in the power sector. 55 current and former officers have entered the field for the appointment of Gapco's Private Chief Executive Officer. 20 officers including the current CEO of Gapco have also submitted applications, 7 former Chief Executive Officers have also become candidates. Applicants include current Chief Executive Officer Jam Mohammad Ayub, SEPCO CEO Mohammad Saleem, MEPCO GM Technical Shafiqul Hassan, QESCO Director Gul Nabi Syed, former GEPCO CEO Mohsin Raza Khan, SEPCO Chief Engineer Mushtaq. Ali Qamar, Retired Chief Engineer Muhammad Naeem, Former CEO of LESCO Mujahid Pervaiz Chatha, Engineer Safdar Ali of NTDC, Former CEO of MEPCO Chaudhry Akram, Former CEO of FESCO Mujahid Islam Bala, Engineer Rehan Ali, IESCO Officer Omar Farooq, Chief Engineer Development of LESCO Abdul Sattar and others.
The number of customers in GEPCO has reached 3.7 million. More than 15,000 officers and employees are deployed in GEPCO . GEPCO has 60 grid stations, 750 feeders and other assets worth billions of rupees.
